Torque Figures For The Crown Wheel Bolts Please

Recommended Posts

opticaltrigger

Hi everyone was hoping some of you guys out there could help me with this.

I'm about done with the box for now but I dont know the torque figures for the crown wheel bolts oh and when you take the end cap off the box to expose the gears one of the cogs is just that with a twelve sided nut on the end but the other which sits recessed into a hub with the bronze fork round it,well it's nut is loose and only prevented from coming off by the indents in the nut pinching the shaft but it's loose to turn with your fingers.Surley this cant be right but assuming that it's not suposed to be loose how tight should those nuts be.

Any advise from you guys would be most appreciated.

All the best O.T.

Do the 12 sided nut's up allot more than that, I tend to do them around 100 ft lb or they can undo/move around on the splines
