Meagsquirt Tacho Signal

Recommended Posts

i'm on a little winter mission to get my tacho running with my ms ecu.

now i understand there is a few ways to do this (modding the tacho pcb, fitting bx clocks etc.) but i would like to use the ms tacho output it was fitted with.

from what i can gather on the ms website it can run two types of tacho, a high voltage one (driven from the ignition coil) or a low voltage one(driven by the std ecu).

i guess my ph1 was originally run from the coil ve so i would say high voltage tacho??

so in theory this should work?:

any input would be appreciated, and appologies for going over this topic again.

my bad spelling mistakes sorry

That diagram (stating the obvious) is for wasted spark Pete; is that what you've got?

This means your MS has two VB921 ignition modules fitted, correct? As standard they only have one VB921 and run one coil, and the tacho feed should come from that.

Just checking you don't walk into an issue.

yup  works fine on wasted spark on my MP3.1, if its sequential ignition you'd just add two more of the D2 diodes.

If, after you fit the diode pack it still doesnt work mate you'll need to remove the filtering from the rev counter, i battled for ages trying to get my Megajolt to work, using every conceivable output available to me to no avail.

I've got some pics and such and can talk you thru what needs to be done if you need it fella. :)
