Citroen Xantia Central Locking Problem

Recommended Posts

chris-stdt

My new xantia has had a problem with the central locking since i got it ,when locking with the key the locks would all lock and then immediatly open again!

This problem sorted itself last week but when going to unlock the car last night the drivers door unlocked and the others didnt ,not a problem i thought il just open them from the inside,No the little switch on the top of the door card moves up and down and the mechanism can be heard working but the doors will not open from the inside or outside also the fuel filler cant be opened and the car hasnt got much diesel left !!!

If anybody has any i deas how to open the doors and filler cap it would be much appreiciated ,all i need to do is open them and i will just leave them open to stop it happening again

I have checked the fuse and the car hasnt got a plipper to open the doors wirelessly

Thanks

IIRC you can open the filler cap's lock from the inside behind the panel in the boot.

Sounds like a broken wire in the door loom, extremely common issue on 306's.

Thanks welshpug ,sounds very likely as ive just niticed the interior light no longer comes on when you open the door

Might there be a way of opening the doors/releasing the dead lock ?

Had a fiddle this morning ,disconnected the battery a few times until the alarm went off disconnected an  d left for 30 seconds then reconnected and the central locking worked so i unlocked the doors and quickly took out fuse number 21 which is for central locking (yours may be different) so the same cant happen again and will just lock the doors manually now

Hope your car is so easily fixed

didnt the passenger door unlock/lock the car??

although yours could be like mine and the key just spins in the lock on passenger door.

could be the central locking actuator on the drivers door is sticky causing it to unlock/lock.

my goodwood did that when it was sat of the road for a while.

p.s. im driving a 1995 xantia td at the moment. what fuel consumption you getting out of yours? i put £30 of diesel in mine and did 200miles. does yours do more as that seems a little low to me for a diesel?
