Cyl 1+2 and 3+4 for batch firing

Check on youtube videos on how a 4 cyl works with injection you'll understand why

Interesting.

I've seen both 1+2 & 3+4 and the (more usual) 1+4 & 2+3 configurations.

It's argued that even sequential fuel injection makes very little difference over batch fire, so perhaps you'd explain why the two different pairings above make any difference?

It makes no difference. Either fire all four together, twice per engine cycle, or fire them sequentially, once each per cycle. All 205's and 1.9L Mi16 fire all four simultaneously, in a range of approx. 2.8ms to 7.5ms. The later 2L Mi16 fires once at approx. 5.6ms to 15ms per cycle

Think about how long one engine revolution takes at 7000rpm - 8.6ms. If you then factor in 85% duty cycle for the injector, that means you've got 7.3ms to get all the fuel delivered. So basically the injector is open all the time anyway at full noise.

Can a megasquat run sequential?

A standard MegaSquirt with the MS1 or MS2 uP can only do batch or alternating fire only.

With the MS1 uP thats all you get, now with a mod'ed MS2 uP, extra hardware, and the lastest firmware you can run upto 4 injectors in full Seq Injection, but this is still in the very early testing stages.

To use full Seq Injection you must have both crank and cam sensors.
