Standard Airbox Help

Hi, I just bought myself a lovely 1.6 GTI and i am a very happy boy

 

However the previous owner has bodged on a cone filter and I'm looking to put a standard airbox back on. There's a 1.9 box on tbay, sorry if it's a stupid question but would this fit on my 1.9?

a 1.9 box would fit on a 1.9

 

I assume you ment on a 1.6, it would indeed as they are the same.

ive just done mine. few things to check. check the air box comes with a bracket to mount it because you will need one and your air flow meter does it have a standard spacer on it because you will need one of those too. i had a sheered stud in the exhaust manifold where the bracket mounts, bit of a pain might want to check that too. run a tap down the holes in the manifold incase they have gone all rusty.

I'll have a look in the light tomorrow and see what bits are still there!
