You either need to use the kit and TPS from Weber which is a tidy fit and easy to put on (even I managed it correctly) or bodge some fitting using a TPS that has variable resistance across its range. If I'm not mistaken some pug ones are basically on or offwith no varience in between which is useless for load monitoring for an ECU.

The Weber one is completely self explanatory when you see it. It uses existing bolt holes etc.

Yes. This is the difference between a throttle position SWitch and a throttle position SEnsor. Mi16s (1905cc) have a TPSw.

TPSe's receive a 5v reference signal, and have a sensor ground such that the wiper which rotates, feeds back to the ECU a different voltage based on the position of the throttle spindle, based as said above on the resistance of the track that the wiper moves across.

So i take it that an mi16 one is useless then?

Yes, but some factory ones could be bodged on. But there's little point when the Weber kit is about £60 all in, you'll struggle to make anything as good for less.
