Identification Of Part On 205 Gti

this is made ofsome sort metal, there are two of them one up on top right of engine bay as u lookat it behind coolant bottle and one under passanger headlight, what are these as one by headlight is broke on mine and second one is getting mad hot, iv just fitted an mi16

If it's the part i'm thinking of it, it's the relay for the headlights.

 

These are ment to get hot and should not be placed near anything which will melt/ flammable.

 

What makes you think it's broke?

its a silver capsule, smashed, white powder inside it. not visible till you take bumper off car

the one at the top of the strut is for the low speed fan, sounds like an early car as they were clipped to the topof the rad later on, and the one under the headlamp is the dim-dip resistor.

Sounds like it, though i've never smashed one so couldn't tell you whats inside it
