Silly Header Tank Question

Hi people

 

This is probably a silly question but today i thought as everything is plumbed in i may as well fill the header with coolant.

 

I have bought one of the new clear phase 2 style tanks, but it has no max/min lines. Not sure if its like the phase 1 where the level indicator was in the cap. Whih is not very usful either as peugeot dont make them anymore so im using a stant one. Im guessing its around 2" from the top?

 

Also i noticed there is a small hose underneith the tank i take this is just an overflow?

Is doesn't matter that much tbh. Not sure about xu engines but on TU's it only takes collant from it when it needs to, so as long as there is some in there its fine!

I asked the same question a few months back, the answer was along the lines of you can't overfil it as it'll throw it out the breather pipe. edit see here - http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?s...=108870&hl=

The phase 1/1.5 tank has a red level marker inside the neck of the expansion tank but 2" from the top sounds about right.

 

Where is the small hose underneath the tank or do you mean underneath the cap on the new one? If you do thats the overflow pipe.
