Any more news on this car?I'd love to see how it turned out as i've really enjoyed reading these 8 pages :)

Thanks, It's been in the sprayshop for the last 3 months, I'm trying to find a better passenger door, boot & bonnet as the original ones on the car had major work in the past. The shell only had minor dents and is all in primer now so I'm hoping It'll be fully sprayed just after christmas, can't wait. B)

It's been away a long time now but finally theres progress, the car is in primer and ready for paint :D. I've had a nightmare thus far, in the end i had to buy a brand new bonnet and door skin from peugeot and get hold of another second hand hatch.

Its neary there now though, hopfully it'll be sprayed sometime this week.

Just got to put it back together then.

With the gtis return iminent I've decided to pull my finger out and sort some stuff out ready.

So one thing thats always been a problem on previous 205s of mine is the window wipers seizing or just generally being a bit sh*t, so i've decided not on this one.

I've had a crack at this earlier in the thread but never got round to finishing them and they were never very O/E looking.

So this time i've just replecated the original pins but in stainless steel.

And bored out the plastic and bushed it with phosphor bronze.

Old and new together.

Hopfully this should solve the problem, I've also binned the stock linkages in favour of some rose jointed ones I made earlier.

Thanks mate, unfortunatly its still not painted but i'm assured it will be in the next 2 weeks, its majorly fustrating to say the least  . the guy whos doing it is somewhat of an artiste and cannot be rushed, so all i can do is wait patiently and make sure when i do get it back i have everything to put it back together.

What are you doing regarding the splines for the wipers. I also looked at remaking the entire pivot point but didn't think about removing splines totally.

I have a knurling tool that i think would replicate the splines quite well but i could'nt find it at the time :( , Tbh i dont think there critical, i found the chamfer fit itself is enough to hold it pretty tight.

I ended up using the black plastic pivot points with bushes as a compromise really, there not perfect by any means but i suppose there only wipers

Billet ones would be nice though.

While i'm waiting I've had everything i could find powder coated.

Well sadly it looks like this project has hit a brick wall and will not be finished, the shell was supposed to be back with me well before september so i would have a bit of time to get it together before i started college but it just didnt happen. so now ive got a load of 205 gti stuff hanging around the house and, no money, no time and a 106 daily with a knackered engine, plus the bloody shells still not done. <_< so ive decided to cut my losses and sell the lot, i know im going to regret it some day but i'm sick of driving everywhere at 40 mph with blue smoke trailing out the back of the 106. everything in this thread is be for sale just got to sort out my camera and i'll post it all up in the for sale section.

feel free to pm me if you fancy anything before then ;)

Cheers. John.
