They delibrately do that on the front to decrease front end grip to get rid of some of the understeer, especially Seights with the extra weight.

I was driving down a dual carriageway with my kids in the bak all with seatbelts on. A van full of p..s lights flashin , pull over I come out surrounded by armed forces. One of them says oh jus checking if kids in back got belts on looked like they didn't. So he let's us go. A minute later same van still following me pulls me again, what now I said. Oh it's shoeing as u have no insurance I told him reg of my other car fully comprehensive INS, this car's on my mates trade policy , he checks it then days ok now you can go. There was no need for that at all they just wanted to have a closer look at the gti.
