i get between 300-350 miles per tank depending on how i drive (standard 1.9)

Generally 28-30mpg on my pretty much standard 1.9 8v, using the first click/trip distance method.

 

But I do spend a lot of time on the A45 where there is a lot of traffic lights and most of the time too many other cars. I'd love to know what I could get if my whole trip to work was like the first half...

Averaging 35mpg on my GTI-6 engined 205 at the moment.

I am getting round 29 mpg round town and then 36 mpg if motorway driving on a standard 1.6 I do the later stages of the a45 after the traffic lights lol

I calculated mine for the first time in 2 years of ownership and got 30mpg. I was a bit surprised given the car weighs the same as a biscuit and I wondered if something was wrong. But then I read this thread and see that it is all the 205 is good for.

 

As others have said - I didn't buy it for its fuel economy.
