Can't afford dealer prices, where else is good to pick one up?

Ask in the wanted section on here. I think I might even have one... will try to remember to have a look.

Sure it doesn't just need a good clean and the pickup inside re-tracked a bit? (I'm sure someone will correct my terms).

nope I tried swapping it with a mates one and his works perfect for me, steady idle.

If you have one that would be great, is it for a 1.6?

I go mine from Andrew Pages for £150 (that's with a staff discount about 4 years ago)

Look here.

And you should've really stated earlier it was for a 1.6, as there are at least 3 different types.

I asked my local Andrew Pages a few weeks ago for one for the Mi16 and they could'nt help me. So its either a Blue Streak reconditioned one or trying a Vauxhall dealer as some early 90's ones used the same gubbins.

I got mine from air mass meter, found on the net.

They sourced it directly from bosch in germany about a month ago cost me £365. Thats for a brand new unit, Bosch dont actually recondition them any more. They told me bosch dont even make them any more and they only had a limited amount of units left and when they go, there gone. That was for a pre cat 1.9. Part number ending in 109.

I had tried the obvious thing like clean out the airflow meter and Re-tracking it before buying one. But where the wiper had idled for years in one spot on the track it had worn it away. Tried another second hand unit butthat still was brilliant.

Buying a new one was the best thing i have ever done for my 205, (better than a rebuilt rearbeam or standard head refurb) it ilded spot on and I could decrease the rev from 1200 to 900 and it just sits there. It amazed me what a difference it made. Alot of money but well worth it. I might have been very unlucky and have had 2 s*it ones previously. Only based on my findings.
