Refitting Gearbox

What should I be checking / greasing / fitting on gearbox immediately before refitting it?

 

It's an Mi box going on an Mi engine.

BE3.

that the release bearing is on correctly! i thought it was but it wasn't.

also check your clutch as soon as it is on and not last!

give the engine a quick crank by hand. Fitted a new box on my clio 182 and after putting everything back together it wouldnt start. The flywheel was catching the box. All off, and job all over again.

 

(was a megane scenic box btw so slightly different, wouldnt expect this on a like for like swap but something I do now just in case).

Check the clutch pivot bushes are in good order and have a small amount of grease on them.

Absolutely ^^ these are the BE gearbox's cause for clutch stiffness and the gearbox's weak spot, and afaik most other Peugeot gearbox's

as well..
