205 Steel Two Piece Tank Guards

Recommended Posts

tdr_1976

Has anyone here got them fitted on their cars?

Reason I ask, is that when I purchased my XS, I was given the tank guards with it, I have a small plastic bag with a couple of bolts and brackets in, but no instructions on how to install it properly......lol!

Any help would be great!

Cheers

They usually have two small holes at the leading edge , where you drill through the floor pan and fix .

At the rear they mount to two 100mm ish spacers fitted to the fuel tank mounts , at the side there should be a couple of angle brakets that you drill and fix into the sill seams .

Do you have any photos ?

I would have put mine up , but I sold them a couple of weeks ago

Is it anything like THIS. If so its just a matter of drilling some holes and bolting.

Hi Guy's,

They are similar to those ones from Peter Lloyd.

I'll have to get into the shed to take some pics of them, so you can see what they look like properly.

I'll venture out later to get them!

Thanks

Had some on the old car, fitted as said. Just offer them up on the seam of the sill, see where the holes need to be drilled in front of the fuel tank. Then the flappy bits at the back need small brackets to be attached ( I used the strap bolts on the beam for one side) to stop them being flappy.

I now have nice kevlar ones on the new car.

Thanks again for the info guys!

I took a couple of pics of the actual guards and fittings, I'm not sure if they are all there though?

I haven't looked at what side either of them go, so I have no idea where they fit.
