Mi16 Temp Sensors

Recommended Posts

Think my temp sensors are both dead. The car idles badly whatever the temp, but from cold for the first 5 seconds it's all over the place between 1500 - 2500 and takes a good 40seconds to settle down to anything reasonable, but still idles around 1300-1500 for a minute or two afterwards. Any ideas how much they cost roughly too?

It also misfires badly at idle too. the plugs are new and the leads don't have many miles on them - they've been on the car a couple of years but only have 3/4k miles on them, but I'll try changing them anyway. I've changed the ICV, coil, ign amp, dizzy cap & arm, afm & injectors for ones I know are good so I'm confident it's none of those.

Cheers.

The only temp sensor that matters from a running point of view is the 2-pin blue ECU temp sensor - the two single-pin dash senders make no difference to running, purely driving the gauge and the warning light.

The blue ECU temp sensor is part number B93490 from GSF, and was about a tenner from memory.

Ah, fair enough. The short one is the gauge, and the taller one is for the light

Anyone know where I can get HT leads for a reasonable price? GSF and ECP want £40 odd a set. 1.9 Mi16, none of that 8v crap please :P.

Search for your nearest Motaquip dealer, Pug's own (aftermarket) spares department, the wishbones they sell have the oe bushes in & the 8v HT leads I bought recently look very good quality.
