New Liners Required

Recommended Posts

Fazza6868

In the last stages of my Mi16 rebuild, my mechanic has suggested new liners as current ones are quite badly lipped, where is the best/cheapest place to get liners and rings, i have a QEP price list and I have to say have been very impressed with Matt , but cash is tight so just wanted to check if there were any other cheaper options?

all help greatly appreciated as i really need to get these soughted asap .

new liners tend to be supplied with pistons and rings, I was quoted £360 IIRC for some from dean hunter, Peugeotparts.

Just liners, you'll need liner seals too but they cost pennies.

Liners and piston rings aren't worth skimping on really, the ones QEP supply are very good quality and you'll be pretty hard pressed to find similar quality for less.

I bought liners/pistons/rings from QEP for £380 delivered with discount

Must have been for an 8V, Mi liners are sold separately to pistons and rings.

I should imagine so as Kev rebuilt his 1.9 8v.

I saw a brand new piston & liner set on Ebay go for £180 a while ago, so you might get lucky there. (I bid £160 last minute but got outbid last second!)

These guys get them made to order in the states and say they usually come in cheaper than buying them in the UK, even when postage is factored in:

They are a ferrari approved engine repairers and have built v12 maserati race engines so quality is good.

Worth a phone call.

Good for him! He did try signing up on here but failed miserably.

From what i've gathered, i'm personally glad. :)
