Removing The Heater Matrix Pipes - What Bung To Use?

Recommended Posts

Masekwm

I've been considering removing the heater matrix and pipes from my Mi as they always blow slightly hot.

I've looked at the pipes and realise I can simply join them but I've noticed in Servicebox that there is a bung mentioned on various engines but don't know if they'd be strong enough for the coolant pipes.

Has anyone bipassed the matrix using these bungs?

Try bung no. 0245 16.

Was told that it's from a 505. I've used them to block off the pipe which runs behind the Mi16 head to dist block, so possibly the same size as what you need.

Seems strong enough for the cooling system so far as mines only .9 Bar.

I use the 8V alloy distribution block and weld it up. I remove the steel barbs from the thermostat housing, tap 1/2" BSP and Loctite (569) in bungs.

306 turbo diesel has a cap on the distribution block which fits an 8v
