Rs200 Mount Available Anywhere Other Than Burton Power ?

Recommended Posts

chris 417 mi

Tried calling burton today to get my mount, which is needed for my gti-6 conversion only to find they have no stock.

Do anywhere else supply these or is it a burton only mount that gives the best fitness for purpose ?? , or (i know this is going to be a very long shot ) would ford be able to supply them ?? (maybe very old stock ?? ) .

Could really do with getting this engine back in and running before christmas  any suggestions ...

Interested to know if this is a recommended way to mount the Gti6????

Do you then have to have lower fork custom made?????

How much does the RS2000 mount lower the engine by?????(Worried about sump to road clearance  )

Or is it better to space master cylinder out rather than lower engine??????

You really need to adjust the gearbox too or you'll end up with tilted and slanted engine, Not good.

Not the best way to install one of these engine's by any means or really any need to lower them or slant them as it increase's the risk of the sump being cracked if you go over any high speed bump's/curbs etc which even at std height you got the odd minor scrape

im only doing it this way as the best option from the followong ones people have came up with :

a ) taking part of the camcover away ( leaving it with a large hole in ) and shaving a small amount off the master cylinder

b ) unbolting the pedal box from the firewall and putting spacers in to angle it upwards

c ) the lowered mounts method

i really didnt fancy shaving the mc and cutting bits out of the cam cover or trying to re seal the gap left by wedging the pedal box ( plus the change in travel it will create) unless there is a better way ?? :)

ive been looking for a thiner servo to use but have had no luck so far, the basic model is smaller radius but still just as fat.

just another option to consider.

Miles reangled the servo on mine, pics below, the V part of the MC is barely rubbing the cam cover, but as the mounts get broken in, this will improve.

Clears the cam cover nicely.

Sorry no, its at the bottom of the rectangular mount for the servo where it joins the bulkhead i believe.
