Tailgate Trim

Recommended Posts

Sorry if I'm asking a silly question, but I'm just fitting another tailgate on the 205 and the one I am putting on doesn't have the plastic trim across the back.

I want to take the one off the old tailgate and fit it on the new one, but how do they come off/fit on???

If I remember correctly, you remove the ‘Peugeot’, ‘205’ and ‘GTi’ badges with a sharp blade as they are stuck on then behind them are some metal lugs, it is then just a case of pulling the plastic panel downwards and they ‘should’ unclip.

That looks right, except that it would appear that some time in the past someone lost two of the retaining clips and araldited the panel on :)

There is also one star washer on the inside near the wiper motor to remove IIRC.

IIRC, there's a U-shaped clip that holds the tailgate lock in place that also has to be removed (from the inside).
