14" 1.6gti Alloys On A 1.9

Do 1.6 alloys fit on a 1.9? cos the ones I just got don't!!! the front brake caliper scrapes on the inside if the wheel. are they a higher offset? and would spacers do the job?

Covered loads of times this but just to recap:

 

There are 4 or so different castings of 1.6 alloy

 

Speedlines generally will clear 1.9 calipers, the others won't unless disc and pads are worn.

 

You can run a grinder over the outer edge of the caliper and take a little bit off, then SMRs and possibly the other casting types will then fit on.

 

Running spacers is not required.

Nice one cheers for that! all 4 wheels are smr. I was just going to get some of them non hub-centric 5mm spacers just to get them to clear as they only just touch on the front, they clear at the rear.
