Avo Coilover Advice

Recommended Posts

i have some second hand avo coilovers, they don't have a locking ring they have a nylon grub screw to lock them off..

when you tighten the grub screw it still spins on the treads?

will the spring wind itself down?

my topmount bearings are in good condition and turn freely..

has anyone used a second platform to act as a locking ring?

Yes they will wind down, Phil and I have these on the white car and had exactly this problem (platforms winding off). A second ring to lock would work well. Or otherwise we have just used a short stainless cap head in place of the nylon grub, to lock it off.

I allways found that a second locking ring works the best, you can really clamp them up tight with some well fitting C-spanners.
