Confused By Replacement Alternator

Recommended Posts

Veero

Also on the hunt for why my Mi cuts out I decided to replace change the starter and alternator for the hell of it.

Stuck the new alternator in and the terminals are different. The old alt had a single 10mm screw terminal and a slide on terminal for the battery light lead to the dash. The new alternator doesn't have a slide on terminal and there are 2 screw on terminals, an 8/9mm one and a 13mm one. They seem to be labelled differently too.

Any ideas which lead should go where?

would have thought the bigger one for the power and the smaller one for the batt light[but its only a guess]

The 8mm stud is for the battery warning lamp and the 13mm stud connects to the battery + terminal.

Ok cheers, I was thinking that last night but darkness was hampering operations. Just thought it was strange, since the hole in the battery connection wire wasn't big enough to go over the larger terminal.

Thanks
