Convert Passenger Seat To Drivers Seat

HI All

Just wondering if you can convert the passenger seat over to the drivers side as i can not seem to find a good drivers seat. If so is there much work in doing it.

So long as you don't mind the recline knob being on the "wrong" side, just swap the subframe over and jobs a good 'un.

You can use a foam base out of a passenger side very easily, the same cloth/leather too.

 

In fact it's the same with the backs - it's just the release/tilt mechanism and recline bit that's wrong.

 

So butcher a passenger seat to make a driver's seat.

Its an 87 1.6 so the cloth seats, so the drivers seat is bucked. i think ill will give it go with the converting the a passenger over,

It's simple enough to remove the covers to swap them over, and fix the bolsters while you are at it. Bit fiddly and time consuming, but basically a one spanner on the Haynes difficulty scale.

i believe the seats themselves are the same, it's just a matter of taking the rollers off, and putting your drivers side roller on, so the lever is on the right side.

 

 

i think it's only 4 screws holding the seat on. and another 6 or so attaching the rollers to the car.
