Torsion Bar Advice

Hi all, and before you do mention i did read the thread below but it seems track dat orientated.

 

However i have a 309 beam and want advice on torsion bars and arb. Im using 309 wishbones and drives and front arb and ill be either getting billstien black suspension all around or the gaz gha coilover full kit.

 

This is for fast road use and is an mi16, so which torsion bar and arb would you recommend and how much much of a drop would you go for in front 30 40mm or what?

The standard 309 torsion bars should be fine for fast road use as long as you dont go mad on the front spring rate, maybe use a bigger rear ARB though, 22, 23, 24mm. If it is just for road use id reccomend Eibach springs, they really are spot on for road use and give around a 40mm drop. Personally id back to back test the 205 and 309 front ARB, as it can cause understeer. I personally rate not running a front ARB at all, although you need to get your spring rates spot on to do this. If you do go for the Gaz setup, order it with something like 200-225lb springs, it will make the car alot nicer balanced with standard rear bars.

Can i source these thicker arbs from another car or what

Yeh, you can get them off a zx, 22mm or 306 24mm, although size does vary depending on the model, both will need cutting down however and one end plate welding on.
