Ok so i get my 205 back after a rebuild everything is going sweet till the following morning then awhole range of problems follow, Firstly my fan wont go off it came on then decided it didnt want to turn off again not sure why its doing this altho i have tryed reading the forums and found afew topics on there that i may give a try..

secondly when i came back to it on my dinner tryed to start it, it cut straight out, and was missing like hell untill i started to drive it home and everything went fine again, so i continued to drive it later that nite and did about 5 mile came to a stop and it started to idle really low missing once again so i decided to head home to drop it off, it went fine again then after about 2miles the problem started again while driving and gradually got worse and worse ive changed the spark plugs, HT leads, and still remains to miss. any suggestions?

Im also struggling to find my Diagnostic Plug, theres a plug attached to my rocker cover and wondering if its that? its a G reg so Phase 1 is the model and the engine size is 1.9 once again tryed looking on the forum but ive confused myself with all the different suggestions on here and on other forums i found in Google.

Thanks in advance, and sorry if this topic is covered else where.

Miles

First of all, I take it your car is a 205 GTi 1.9 8 Valve on std injection, Phase 1.5. If so you don;t have a diag port as the ECU's are well clockwork

Take it back to the place that swaped the engine as something is amiss with the electrics

Cheers, unfortunately i rebuilt the engine myself, with a friends help.. got it into the unit this weekend, and did a quick overhaul check on everything that i fought could cause it to be miss firing, it seems one of my injectors is getting a bad connection.. i unplugged them then plugged them back in and it worked fine until i drove it again.

Taking it back tonight with anew set of injectors, hopely all goes well... Wish me luck.

And with the fan not turning off im going to put it on switch for now, as its just a quick fix.

The pins in the injector plugs have a habit of moving back inside the housing...
