Anyone Got Bonnet Lifts Fitted ?

Recommended Posts

EricYellow

I'm looking to getting soem bonnet lifts as I have no place fot the original anymore.

I've been searching a bit but can't seem toe get a good picture of how it's fitted.

I found a pic of a car where they were fitted but they had to cut a piece out of the bonnet...and that I don't want to do....

Anyone got onay other ideas/pics ?

To fit lifters you screw a ball joint into the original wing and bonnet bolt holes.

I dont see how you could fit them in that position to be honest without cutting some of the bonnet brace

'box' section to let the lifter sit in the down position.

Its only a small section so why not cut the section away and then 'sculpt' a piece back in to allow for the lifter to sit

and respray, maybe it could look factory?

Or you could try a smaller length lifter at the extremities of the front of the bonnet to miss

that box section altogether???

Would get you a better picture but I dont own the car anymore.

the 306 and 106 has them pointing forwards from their mountings on the strut top, they would miss that section on the underside of the bonnet, but you'd need to weld a tab to the bonnet to fix the front ball to.

@Welshpug: you're thinking just like me

I was hoping that someone already has done it and could post some pics of where to weld the tab etc.

They are for an Opel Corsa A and come complete as seen in the pics.

Only thing you have to do is exactly measure where you mount it on the fender.

Otherwise the hood won't close...

When shut you dont see anything, looks just like factory.

Excellent work fella, had the right ones sat around for months but just been reluctant to chop anything out of the bonnet!
