Gti6 Fault Code Reader

as above really

 

i quite fancy seeing if the ECU is holding any error codes before i go systematically replacing all the sensors till i cure my loss of power issue :)

is this a 306 gti6 or a 205 with a gti6 engine in it?

 

If it's a 306 then just get a eobd 16 pin code reader and plug into diag socket. If it's in a 205 then you'll have to wire in a 16 pin connector and read faults that way

The Phase 1 306's had a 2 pin green Bosch plug clipped onto the ecu cover, the same wires are used in the later cars in the same way, just that they are included in the EOBD style connector, you could wire up the later loom like the early one easily enough.

 

never tried to extract any codes from them though, so I don't know what methods you need to use.

You need to find someone with a Snap On Scanner. I plugged my CTI into Gav Robinsons and I was gobsmacked on what it told me, inlet temps, water temps etc. Wouldn't your engine management light come on if there was a fault?
