Has anybody had this problem and if so what/where is it coming from!?

from the top;

camshaft cover, distributor o-ring seal, thermostat housing to cylinder head gasket, head gasket (though unlikely for the last two) and lastly the dipstick and dispstick tube.

the leak is not as high up as the camshaft cover!

would the distributor o-ring seal let out that much oil? its not just happend its been doing this for some time and has just built up!!

if it was the cylinder head gasket then I would be getting other symptoms.

my car has done 158K miles and is still going strong :lol: its just leaking from every orifice!!

Yep, the distributor o-ring seal goes hard and brittle over time. Mine was leaking quite badly.

Easy job and costs pennies to replace from Peugeot!

A snapped dipstick tube was the cause of oil spraying everywhere on my car, hard to spot if it only has a pinhole or even if it is quite a big one.

thanks guys

think i will order an O-ring seal and see how it goes

whats the best way of getting the oil of the engine? spray Gunk on it and jet wash it off? or steam clean?
