309 Gti With Gti 6 Engine Inside

Hello everybody.

 

im new to the forum. I bought a 309 gti with a damaged shell and blown up engine. The bloke i bought it off blew the engine, then got out and booted the newly sprayed side panels in a rage hence the damaged shell lol. Me and my mechanic mate took out the 1.9 lump and so far all we have done is install the new 306 gti 6 engine and gear box. No plumbing as yet or wiring. Planning on putting a supercharger on it with mega squirt in the future. Here are the pictures of our progress so far. Its a steady race as weve not touched it for a year lol

Any suggesttions on the super charger? I was looking for like an eaton m45 or m60. Somthing off a Kompressor maybe. Mini cooper s would be ideal nut i think it will be far to small really. Thanks for your time

Good to see one that isn't rotten. If you need a loom give Spiky a PM and he should be able to make you a plug and play loom for it

 

What's the turning circle like with the 6' box, i've heard it restricts travel in the 205.

[im not sure what the turning circle is like as i havnt driven it yet but i have also heard that. Think we have to install driveshafts off a 405 or somthing so it doesnt interfere with the gearbox. Have you got a project car too? Apreciate the heads up about spikey. Any ideas on how much it is for the loom? Cheers bud

RH turning circle is pi$h..

 

309 shafts are fine with the GTi-6 'box. 405 ones are too long.

Have you left the aircon compressor on???????

 

Have you mounted the engine standard,or on lowered mounts/fork extended????

 

Any mods to exhaust manifold,if not any chance of a pic of how much clearance you have got between manifold and bulk head please??????

Yeah got a 6' engine 205.

I can't quote on price because I'm unsure how he would make the loom up, but mine cost about £120 but part-ex with 2 looms so can't remember how much it was in the end.

 

Give him a PM on here, he may answer but he's on the GTI6 forum aswell.

To be honest mate, im not too sure if its still on or not. All i know is that the air con is coming off and the super charger mounted in its place. We didnt have alot of clearence at the front and i think we have to get a different rad so we can move it forward? Will try and get a pic of the gap on the bulkhead.

 

£120 for the loom isnt to bad. Been looking at roll cages all day and night and struggleing to find 1. Thinking of just a rear bolted in 1, any ideas?

get a custom roll cage or make one yourself there not that hard if you get yourself a pipe bender

you send the old ecu loom and it's cheaper, tough the engine loom looks like it's been messed with?
