Odd Noise

Recommended Posts

Guest kreuz205

i have noticed an odd noise at low idle. sounds a bit like a metal rattle. thought it was coming from the top cam belt cover but removed this and its still there. noise seems to go away as i increase revs.

any ideas?

cheers andy

If its cam belt cover area I'd be looking either:

Cam Belt Tensioner

Water Pump

Alternator

do a search for it as its been explained many many times over the years so you'll get all the info you need with a search!!

Just remember to check, check and re check before you remove whatever you have used (ie drill bit) to lock the crank and cam pulleys in the timing holes and turn it over for the first time oh and when you release the tentioner to re tension the belt make sure you allow the tensioner to bounce back slowly as i have had it make the belt skip a tooth without realising before

good luck

Do you still have the original airbox and if so are all the mountings intact?
