Still Missfiring

and getting worse by the week

 

oh and a search is not turningg up many answers for me

 

changed so far

 

plugs and leads

fuel filter ( in part of a full service)

tried a different ignition amp.made no difference

dizzy cap and rotor arm

checked all electrical joints and plugs,cleaaned and gave them some wd40

 

 

now its getting worse and its now struggleing to idle or on the other hand it idles really high

 

rev gauge jumps about like its swallowed a pack of pro plus and its getting embarassingly slow!!!!!!

 

any help would be great :rolleyes:

Assuming its the mi16 in your signature.

 

could be blue ecu temp sensor (on thermostat housing)

AFM

get a compression test and post the results. if its under 180psi its a bit low.

with the tacho jumping around, sounds like ignition related, I'd suspect the LT lead from the dizzy. Can you borrow a known good dizzy? Apart from that it seems only the coil is left to replace? worth a try.

lt lead??? is that the one that goes to the coil??? as thats the only one i havnt changed

 

dont think i can get my hands on any dizzy's at the moment ;)

 

might try get a coil this aft

I had similar issues with my 8v when the headgasket went come to think of it, go get a hydrocarbon test.

Low tension lead - from dizzy body to ign. amp - but if youv'e not replaced the king lead from dizzy cap to coil - that's your 1st priority!!!

gonna gather some parts and change a rake of them lol

 

got some serious handling issues aswell so im gonna rip here to bits and get her sorted out soon once ive moved the turbo out of the way

 

thanks for comments and suggestions,keep them coming hahaha

 

dcc - what the chuff is one of them tests hahaha

 

i dont 'think' it will be the head gasket,it it is then god damn it,it can wait till i stick the carbs on haha
