Anyone Know About 306 Diesels?

ive tried googling but no joy the starter on my 1993 306 xtdt is having issues, just wondered if i need to get one off another TD or if a normal diesel starter would be ok?

does anyone know please?

Any XU starter will physically fit (with the possible exception of a huge old 205 one) and a non turbo diesel will be even higher compression ratio than a turbo diesel so it should have the power to turn it over.

According to Peugeot they are the same for the turbo and non turbo, so any 405, 406 Citroen ZX, Xantia or Xsara starter should be just the job
