1.6 With 309 Bones

Recommended Posts

They're only crappy pics for insurance I'm afraid - the old girl needs a bit of a wash but I'd too busy (read: too lazy) to do it at the moment lol

anyway, the front is super wide track - the wheels only just fit in the arches, gives a nice aggressive look at the front. Had a small amount of initial rubbing but it's fine now. difficult to say how handling has improved, as i fitted polybushes, shocks, springs and the bones all at the same time but she's really cornering nicely at the moment.

Looking at these pics I really need to get on the case with the rear beam - it looks OK in real life but compared to the fronts the rear wheels look lost in the arches!

so is that all you use on the front? just 309 arms does this not badly affect camber/castor angles, and if so how did you go about correcting this?

So for the rears im guessing to wide track you fit a 309 beam?

castor is the same, you get a useful 1.5 degrees of negative camber together when used with a 30mm drop.

It's all just boggo 1.6 stuff, shafts, hubs, carriers etc.

I've had a really good look under the car with the wheels on and off and at full lock both ways and it looks good to me, although I never give it full (1.6!) beans with a lot of lock on.

i'm driving this configuration since many years in my 205 gti 1.9, together with the 309 front torsion bar

handles perfect and no excessive rubber wear.
