Adjusting Clutch Biting Point

Recommended Posts

Just a quicky, which way do I turn the nuts on the clutch cable in order to lower the biting point (make it bite with the pedal nearer the floor)?

You need to lengthen the cable.

Yeah

You won't do any harm so play until it feels right but remember to lock them together when you finish - don't want them to fall off...

Thanks. I was getting major clutch slippage yesterday, partly heat and partly worn clutch probably but need it to last a little longer!

Slackening the cable should make no difference to a slipping clutch as the more you tighten it the more the pedal rises, it doesn't hit and end stop (thus keeping pressure on the clutch) until the pedal is so high it is almost impossible to use...
