Which Connecting Rods (tie Rod) For The P/s Rack

Recommended Posts

Miles

In my hunt for Part numbers which my local parts man gave me and the online system I can find the following and as ever with Pug not the most helpful choice of

3812.32

3812.38

3812.95

I know I need 2 rod's as I;m converting the Xsara rack to fit the 205, the 309 numbers are different again ;)

Any ideas?

32 and 38 don't come up in servicebox, only 95, which is a bare track rod without the boot or rod end.

Motaquip only list one for the 205, VTR655.

Do you really need to swap the rods? There's about 75mm of thread in the ends so I cut 15mm off mine and 15mm off the track rod end. Works perfectly!

They cut the old track rod ends to fast remove the rack I believe but hey. 60 quid shipped, can't moan too much.

As said the Cut rod end doesn;t look to great and is quite floppy, Other end isn;t too bad but for the cost of the new arm's it's not worth messing around, well we will wait and see

my 205 and 309 PAS racks have the same length arms fitted. Not sure if this helps but I have the dimensions somewhere. .. .
