Hello People,

i want to ask you an question,

What would an RFV block with an RFS Head could deliver if the head is compleetly rebuild and has taken of the maximal amount of material that would be safe.

The case is that is had my 306 cabrio with this engine on the rollers last saturday and it deliverd only 130 pk on the wheels and only 160 nm on the wheels.

Could this be correct or could it be that the 18 inch 215/3518 wheels have taken much of the power?

Greetings Dennis Orgers

From the Netherlands

Ideally fit the entire RFS engine.

Yes i know,

But an bare RFS engine is very expensive in the netherlands (about 1000

-1250 euro's)

An i could buy the RFV engine with only 60.000km for 300 euro's but i thought that i wouldn't make that big of an difference

So could this be right, only about 150pk?

Greetings

Dennis

The RFV pistons have bigger dishes, so the compression ratio will be lower.

I know, and the base block is 10,4 compressionratio against 10,8 of the rfs.

But could the 0,4 of the difference in ratio mean that i lose 20pk?

Greetings

no, the main differences are the camshafts, valve sizes, port shape/size and manifolds.

I don't think that 0.4 drop in compression would account for a great deal, its only down to the same ration as the D6C and RFY MI16's.

and the timing on the camshafts?

there is an little bit of adjustment possible, can this cause the loss of power?

Or do you people have other ideas?

Which inlet and exhaust manifolds is it on? Which engine management is it running?

Basicly its the RFV block with everything else from the rfs

so head, cams, manifolds, wiring, ecu, sump, gearbox, injectors

only the bare block, crankshaft, pistons and rods are from the rfv

The head was refurbished with an company and skimmed to the max

Only thing i rememberd for the build is that we didn't exactly knew how to put the camshaftpulley to the center.

so i though mayby that is wrong
