Removing The Spare Wheel Cage

Recommended Posts

nige_gti

Hi,

I have started to strip my 205 down inside (mainly to sort out the small rust patches) but have noticed the increased creaking from the spare wheel bracket underneath.

I have no spare wheel (just a can of foam) and am wondering if I can

a ) remove the bracket

b ) how easy is it to do?

Thanks

Nigel

I'm sorry if there is a thread about this somewhere!

Yes you can remove it, on the one side you should see a plastic clip holding it in place, with this removed you can then manouever the cradle out of its brackets and off the car.

Me and my mates had to saw through the bit at the back as it had seized. Broke the hacksaw but got it off eventually!

Looks way better with it off
