Quick Q: How Hard Are Standard Springs?

As per title - how hard are standard 1.9 gti springs measured in lbs?

Well i was told by someone also driving a 205 track car very succesfully here in Denmark that he uses springs that are only 100 lbs harder than standard springs, and that he adjusts the rest on the coilovers. What do you think?

I'd have said 110lb max as standard which means your racer is telling porkies so as to not reveal any secrets or he is running softer than he could.

Pretty sure Eibachs ae only about 100-120 or something.

According to this post standard 205 GTI springs are about 95lb/in.

 

But Paul (Fangio) goes into more detail in this post & says they are nearer 85lbs/in.
