Panel Seam Sealant

Recommended Posts

Grim.Badger

I've just stripped off the old sealant and last repair job on the seam between the sil and rear quarter, the sealant used seemed to be kitchen sealant and had been holding water against the metal. Behind all this seems to be a mix of mud and rust, I've got as much out as possible, treated the area with anti rust gel and have put on the first coat of undercoat with a brush.

What type of sealant do I use, I presume that I do need some; but I don't want cheap stuff that will just hold water like the last lot.

You'll need good quality PU sealant :D , made for use on car bodywork preferably like Teroson , Wurth , Dinitrol etc. ..(they're a touch more expensive but well worth a cost id say ..)

I use tiger for most seal jobs, not just panels. Makes a great gasket, but hard to get off if you do a strip down!

STRONG stuff!
