Gearbox Id Codes?

how can i ID my gearbox so i know the ratios and cwp before i sent it off for the new lsd?

I thought they had the model stamped on the end of the casing - mine has BE3 very clearly stamped.

 

Apart from that I think it is very difficult without stripping it down.

 

What LSD are you going for?

I know its an MA type gearbox, but i dont know the ratios as im not sure what car it came out of. i thought there might be a way of telling!

There is a label or stamped in code to identify the MA box. 106 1.3 Rallye box for example has 20CB90. On the peugeot servicebox you can find which models with engines had which boxes. B)

The lenght of all the gears and final drive. The final drive is quite short (ax gt, 205 gt/xs, 106 1.4 xsi,...).
