Front Struts?

Recommended Posts

Pazzapug

Hi all,

Right im a little confused here, i have put new spax gas front struts and 40mm springs on my 1.9 and have found that one side is around 15mm lower/higher than the other!!

I have since then taken both off stripped them down right to the last washer and rebuilt them,in case i had missed something out, donuts are fine and bearings etc etc, and are sitting fully in the strut brace.

Could my subframe be twisted etc??

Cheers all

Chris

Did it sit level with the old shocks and springs?

Assuming it did, that the rear sits level, and the dampers definately both seating properly in the hub, then I'd say it's more likely that something is amiss with the springs - are they definately matched?

Hi Ant,

Just looked now and i never noticed this before but one of the old springs is higher than the other!! Obviously to make up the difference!!

So why would that be then?? Apart from my car being twisted!! :)
