Can't Get Reverse

used the search but cant find any info...

 

i drove my 205 from my girlfriends mam's house to my house, reversed it onto the drive, and there it sat for a good 6 months whilst i pulled the turbo off to put a different 1 on it, then 6 months later i towed it to a friends garage to get a new downpipe made to suit the turbo..... few days later i fired it up, and tried to back it out of the garage and no reverse.........

 

checked all the linkages and nothing was fouling them, it doesnt go in if the motors not running either. its a 1.9 but has a 1.6 box in (or so i was told it was/ lift up for reverse and its below 5th) all other gears are fine, it feels as if theres something stopping it from going in but theres not, or atleast theres not on the out side of the gearbox.... anyone ever have this problem?

If its lift up for reverse then its by 1st not below fifth. If it really does have reverse below fifth then it shouldn't have a lift up cable fitted and this will stop you selecting gears.
