Clutch Arm / Fork Swap Be3 To Be1

Recommended Posts

stuart

I'm swapping over the clutch arm / fork from my BE3 to my new BE1 as I've heard that the clutch operation is much improved.

I've removed everything from the BE1 which was fairly straight forward but I can't seem to get the clutch fork far enough clear of the bottom pivot to remove it out of the BE3. The problem is that the input shaft is in the way and I can't move the arm around far enough for the fork to swing clear due to the arm hitting the box casing.

I want to take the arm off, or at least rotate it around on the fork slightly but can't seem to removed the bolt / pin that holds it in place.

It has what looks like a bolt but with no head on it...not sure if this is how it's supposed to be? I've tried knocking it out lightly but don't want to strip the threads if it's a bolt.

Can anyone tell me how I can get the fork / arm out of the BE3?

I've looked through the haynes and done a few searches but can't find a solution...

Cheers

Stu

tony perks

Undo the nut off the pin (if its still there), then hit the pin out, with a punch and a hammer, get some new fork arm bushes from the dealer they are about £5 the pair and away you go.

Failing that cut the threaded end of the off with a hacksaw, centre punch it then use a 4mm HSS bit and drill the fecker out :);)

Thanks for that, tried knocking it out yesterday but was totally seized so looks like I'll be drilling it out then...

That seems a lot for the fork, mines not too rusty so think I'll try salvaging it first.
