New Camshaft?

Hi, im sure someone have asked this question before, but i did a search on the forums and nothing to match what I need to know, and after i read trought 30 pages of topics i gave up ^^,

so what i need to know is where to get a new camshaft for my peugeot 205 1.9 GTI -87?

I've tried with all the local spare parts dealers and when I say peugeot -87 and gti in the same sentence they all just laugh.

so do anyone know some place who sell the camshaft with original specs cheap? or is it worth it to get a camshaft from a peugeot dealer or a tuning shaft?

and if these options is too expensive or dont exist, does someone else have a good idea where to get a camshaft?

You should place this as a wanted ad Lucas, stating that you'd like a good condition 1.9 GTI camshaft sent to Finland.

 

The part number for an XU9JA engine (128bhp - non catalytic model) is: 0801 P2 (seems its original part no. was 0801 C4)

 

If it's an XU9JAZ catalytic & lower CR version (120bhp) then it's: 0801 N5 (from May '92 this became 0801 N9)

 

Have you been asking for the specific part number?

 

I may have one I can send you but not until late November.

 

I'm sure lots of people on here have them spare, so just place an advert in wanted and see what you get offered.

Aah the Finns. My ex-wife was Finnish. Just as direct.

 

I still offered you some help Lurken and asked you a question to see what you'd tried.

 

You could've have perhaps helped clarify which engine it is exactly, then we could help you get what you need (building your post count up in the process) so this acted as a wanted ad and enabled you to place more in the future.

My engine is a non catalytic, i havent checked the stores with part no, but no one ive asked have any parts for the peugeot gti cars of this age.

The camshaft you might have for sale in late novemvber sounds like a good choice if I cant find anything before that.
