Best Way To Take Up Slack In Th L Bracket

The gearchange on my car is crap ,i was going to buy a new set of rods but when i jacked up the car the long rod has been replaced and the others dont seem bad.

 

Most of the play seems to be coming from the L bracket ,i see bbm do a brass bush set to go with the rods they do but it costs £25 so i am looking for suggestions on how to achieve the same effect on the cheap

 

Any suggestions welcome

Make your own bush

buy the bush set and also add more weld to the sleeve to prevent it coming loose in the L shaped plate.

 

or modify a 306/xsara/belingo/partner bush to fit.

Which part of the sleeve do you suggest adding weld to and why ?
