Mi16 Rotor Arm

Recommended Posts

mang

My girlfriend has just brought a 205 Mi16 for her self, it was working fine then it just cut out on a drive. Iv had a look at it and im pretty sure its the rotor arm. You get power out of the KING lead but no power out of the cap, does anyone have a part number for a rotor arm or a chase number (redge) for an mi16 car because we have brought the car like this we dont have any other documentation.

Doesn't that mean the problem is with the cap?

Could be either really, if the spring has gone in the centre pin on the cap then changing the rotor will do nowt. Best off changing both together.

iv checked the spring in the centre pin it gives out a pulse the only reason i dont want to change both is that we are skint at the mo (re map for another 205)thats way i made sure it was the rotor arm first.

Well yes, logically if you have spark at the coil lead and then no leccy at the cap, it's the cap that's dead surely? :)

But if you have carbon deposits on both the centre of the rotor arm AND the centre pin of the cap then that could easily sotp any signal getting through, replacing either MAY not fix it, replacing both rules either out.
