Woring Out Crankshaft Angle

Recommended Posts

Nitropixie

Hi

I'm trying to line up a 36-1 tooth triggerwheel on an Xu9 (don't know full code, had jetronic, K-Reg) engine as it doesn't have the 60-2 trigger on the flywheel.

What i would like to know is if i locked the crankshaft and camshaft into position using a 10mm bolt in the respective holes, does anyone know what angle the crankshaft is at?? So i can workout what angle to mount the triggerwheel in comparison to the VR sensor.

The gearbox housing inspection hole on top of the flywheel has a sort of grating going over it and can't make out any kind of timing marks on the flywheel. I have roughly placed the engine at tdc by using a push rod down the spark plug hole to gauge it and can't see anything to align.

Fantastic, you an absolute star!!!!!

Saves me taking the head off and and getting the old 'what you me call it' gauge out. The trigger wheel can be mounted today.

Again thanks

Ryan
