Selecting Gears

Recommended Posts

My 205 has been stood idle for a good while, as you try to select gear i will not go in to gear.

It currently grinds, the clutch is fine, would it be the clutch cable its self if so there are two

Type's mine being a phase two. One is longer than the other which do i need the longer or

The shorter.

Need a bit more info; So the engine runs, you have a clutch pedal, ie. it's not on the floor, but when you depress the clutch and try and engage a gear it crunches?

If it has been standing a while, it is possible the clutch is sticking to the flywheel or pressure plate.

Try putting it in gear (engine stopped) foot on clutch, and then try starting it, see if the car moves.

Check the ball joint on the subframe is'nt loose, as I had this on my xs before and it was hard to select gears. Other than that, it could be the clutch cable needing adjusting :(
