406/306 Xu10 Brake Difference

Recommended Posts

Hi

On putting my car back together i got hold of what i thought were a set of GTI-6 brakes. So i have ordered myself some 283mm * 22mm discs for GTI-6. I have later found out the calipers i have are LUCAS 57 from a 406. The pads i have fit fine but from looking at the spec of 406 brakes the discs are 283mm * 26mm.

Does anyone know if these will still work ie they are the same offset or should i just stomach the mistake and go get some 406 ones?

Thanks

disc offset and thickness are different, they're also even heavier!

you need some gti6 calipers I'm afraid!

The caliper mounting holes are further out on the 406 hubs. If you use the 406 calipers on your 205 you will also need to fit smaller diameter discs than what was fitted to the 406.
