Fuel Injector Order Mi16

does any one know how to tell which injector plug is which.

 

mi16 1.9

 

is there an easy way of telling which is which?

Doesn't matter , you can mix up the order of the injectors and injector plugs on both the Motronic and Jetronic system as well ...

I know that the order of the plugs fitted to the injectors doesnt matter as they bulk fire but why is this? Surely it must be a waste of fuel on the cylinders that arent firing?

Because the valve(s) is/are not open to let it in, so a fraction of a second later it goes in when the valve opens. Not wasted matey.

The fuel vapour hangs around in the inlet until the next time that particular cylinder fires. Even at idle it's a fraction of a second at most, and at higher rpms makes no difference.

 

Firing the injectors separately has virtually no effect on power or economy. It's common on more modern cars, but mainly only for emissions reasons.
